NOTICE OF SALE OF LAND OWNED BY THE BARNES COUNTY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY
The Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority will sell to the highest bidder by sealed bids, with the three highest bidders having the opportunity to orally raise their bid at sale time, the following tract of land, located in the SE 1/4 of Section 6, Township 139, Range 57, in Barnes County, North Dakota.
A tract of land situated in the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of Section Six (6), Township One Hundred Thirty-nine (139) North, of Range Fifty-seven (57) West of the Fifth Prinipal Meridian, Barnes County, North Dakota and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast (SE) corner of said Section 6, thence West along the South line of said Section 6 a distance of 300.00 feet to an iron pin; thence N 0°12'23" W a distance of 450.00 feet to an iron pin, thence East a distance of 300.00 feet to an iron pin on the East line of said Section 6, thence S 0°12'23" E along the East line of said Section 6 a distance of 450.00 feet to an iron pin, the point of beginning. Said tract of land contains 3.10 acres more or less, according to the United States Government Survey thereof. END OF DESCRIPTION.
The property is an inimproved site totaling approximately 3.10 acres. All bidders should inspect the property and inform themselves of existing conditions, and be familiar with conditions of the sale prior to submitting a bid. The property is being sold "as-is". The purchaser will also be responsible for payment of all real estate taxes and assessments (current or delinquent), if any, heretofore or hereafter levied against said real estate. The sale is subject to all existing public rights-of-way, access reservations, and easements of record. The sale will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at the Barnes County Municipal Airport terminal building #9. Sealed bids will be publicly opened and announced at 9:30 A.M. The three highest bidders will have the opportunity to orally raise their bid at the time of bid opening. The award will be based upon the highest qualified bid.
The terms of the sale will be cash, to be paid no later than 30 days following opening of bids.
All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Barnes County Auditor's office, 230 4th St NW, Valley City, ND 58072 clearly marked "Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority Land Sale - DO NOT OPEN" with the name and phone number of bidder before 9:00 A.M. on February 2nd, 2026. Sealed bids may also be delivered in person at the time of sale. Each bid shall be accompanied by a check in the amount of 10% of the total bid, made payable to Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned the day of sale. The high bidder's check will be held as a deposit and deducted from the total bid at the time of final settlement. The high bidder must then remit a second check by March 4th, 2026 for the balance owed. Said deposit to be forfeited in the event that the high bidder fails to comply with the terms of the sale. The sale is subject to final approval by the Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority. The Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any or no reason, to waive technicalities, or to accept such bid as may be in the best interest of the county.
Conveyance will be via quitclaim deed, which the Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority will prepare and deliver to the purchaser after settlement.
